The dArt Showdown is a deviantART centered, team competition that will last the next number of weeks on deviantART. Hosted by `TimberClipse and `IceXDragon in conjunction with #DevNews it is likely the first major team competition on deviantART with thousands of points and other prizes up for grabs!
`TimberClipse posted a few days ago suggestions for a project you would want to host, `IceXDragon came up with the idea of a Art Showdown. The two members then worked together in order to present a new and great contest.

I know you've all been wondering when the heck I was going to start my latest contest so I have good news! You don't have to wait any longer.

It's llama time!

This contest is going to be pretty simple. It involves two amazing things that are rarely combined -- llamas and giant grandma underwear. The goal of this contest is to make some sort of artwork involving those two things. What you can do is up to you! It can be an exact interpretation or an abstract one.
Some examples for inspiration would be: a llama in MLP style with a underwear cutie mark, a llama wearing pin

Macabre OC ContestAfter some debating, I have results!

Awarded because it is incredibly, incredibly creepy to look at... I actually can't look at the picture for more than a couple of seconds before I always want to navigate away.
Second Place: $20 USD or the equivalent in dA points

The design of this creature is so cool, while also being really appealing to look at! I like that he lacks legs.
Third Place: $10 USD or the equivalent in dA points

This is super eerie and interesting to look at at the same time, one of the few that lacked a definitive human form. Worm-like creatures are always very interesting.

Donations for free lineart, shaking it up!Alright, since donations toward my bar for new free line-art has...pretty much stopped, I'm going to change up how that donation bar works.
Currently I was adding a new free use line-art every time the donation bar reached 500 points, but very few people have been kind enough to drop even a SINGLE point in my donation bar while selling adoptables using my free line-art, I think we need to change this up. (Because I'd rather not stop posting free use lineart)

- The last person to donate FILLING the 500 points needed, will get to pick what I do for my next free line-art.
- I'll add a free line art that ANYONE can use.

July is almost over and it has been one busy month for me. I had uploaded many deviations + made many journal skins + Searched for jobs and gave interviews + posting some important journals.
I've finally accepted an offer from an online gaming platform providing company for the role of "Online Mktg Professional management Trainee + Team leader". Its a pretty decent job with lot of challenges. But hey! Life is always full of challenges right?

Here's another something.There's a lot more to life than meets the eye. Even then, you can't see everything. When something happens that is outside your "reality," what will you do? "Expect the unexpected" only goes so far, after all - you can still be caught off guard, even after preparation.
You see all you know, but don't know all that you see. Things in life just happen, and though you can prepare as best you can, there will be times when life pulls some unfair crap. All you can do in those instances is act appropriately. Don't be discouraged if you buckle under pressure. Just get back up and continue on with your life. There will be people and things to help you. Don't forget that.

Ladies and gentlemen :3! Glorious fans of Death Note...and especially L's fans! :
I have recently finished watching Death Note and out of curiosity i started browsing the groups on DeviantArt under the tag Lawliet or L.
Amazed by the number of such groups and their unconditional and ever lasting love for our great detective, i decided to test you all! MWAHAHAHAHAH~ In a challenge! I want all of you, worthy warriors, to show me the love for L~ Do you have what it takes to call yourselves fans? We shall see....

The challenge: You have to draw L. Lawliet 5 times in 2 months. Yes that's right! 5 different drawings of L in just 2 months! Think you can handle this? :thumb167774880:

The deadline:

June 30th

The theme: Attention!~ You decide the theme for EACH of the 5 drawings. That means for the 5 drawings you will make there will have 5 different themes! The theme MUST be written in the DESCRIPTION together with mentioning who started the challenge. HOWEVER. The themes must be of this form:

It isn't necessary to write this sentence on the actual drawing.You have to make the image tell the viewer what it is about!

Don't know how to fill the space? Think of it. Think of all the words that begin with the letter L. Try to get the most random words. And DRAW L and something in connection with the word. Easy, right? Need explaining? Comment below!

Additional DETAILS you might need: You are allowed to:

Draw as many characters from the Death Note as you'd like
Draw Digital/Traditional.
Have fun.

However, you are not allowed to :

use sexual,gore themes. (a little blood is ok,NO YAOI and i mean it! No yuri either..)
grab a pen and make a hasty sketch just for the sake of making 5 drawings. Look. It is ok if you only make 2 ..or 3. But make them look hawt~!If you know what i mean. Add backgrounds if you can, color them .

Advice: QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. WhY? Because even a kindergartener can draw some stickmen and say "Oh look! This is Shinigami Rem ,and this over here standing next to Light is Misa-Misa! Do you think i made Light's Dad look too fat? Hm... I think i missed one of Ryuk's accessories."......bla bla

So... I don't care if you only draw L. Lawliet as long as it is clearly noticeable that you have put a lot of hard work and heart in your drawing. This challenge is opened to everyone.And it's whole point isn't showing off who's got the best skills here or who can finish faster or i don't know what else. NO!

This challenge is purely made for the love of L~ And to show how many things you know about L. How much you admire him. How much of a fangirl or a fanboy you are. Yes you can show off with this.

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED. Remember! This is not a contest, but a challenge. You must think positive and not let others make you back off just because you think you are not good enough.

USE REFERENCES. Search for photos, rewatch DN episodes, search for L fan art. Study him. His ways.

Every artist does this. Even the pro's.Go get inspired!

And last but not the least reward yourself with some cake.
